Men of Iota (Lambds)

......The Lambds, are quite a special group of men.  They are totally supportive of the sorors in their endeavors to carry out the programs of IOTA.  Often they help with  chores, or relieve sorors of  them.  The Lambds are active in the political arenas in Norfolk—Dr. John H. Foster and Mr. Paul Riddick are members of the Norfolk City Council. For many years, Lambd William “Bill” Maull beautifully captured Alpha Chi activities in pictures. Often he was referred to as the “official photographer” for Alpha Chi. Lambd Emanuel Smith officially re-named their home, “The Sorority House” to centralize meetings distances. “Sarge” Goldman Peevy made everyone smile with his culinary skills when meetings were held at the Peevy home.

..... Traditionally, the Lambds have traveled with  sorors when possible.. Sorors could always depend on them for support when the chapter hosted regional conferences and national conventions. Valentine’s Day was especially a great time for the sorors because the Lambds made them their sweethearts for a day and treated them to an elaborate dinner. They later changed the Valentine Sweetheart Dinner to the Valentine Sweetheart Luncheon. These always were beautiful, festive and exciting occasions. A written chapter Resolution, in support of the outstanding work they do, was presented to each Lambd during a Black History Month celebration.

...... Now that the name has been changed to Men Of Iota, our men have become even more involved.  They are participating in mentoring the FUTURE IOTA LEADERS, going bowling, attending baseball games and worshipping with the sorors at various churches.  Family-oriented game nights are under way also.  MOI Joseph Artis and Al Brockington are preserving soror activities in pictures.  Men Of Iota are quite visible as escorts during American Education Week programs.
